About Ridhaa

Hello, I'm Ridhaa, a qualified British Geography teacher currently teaching at one of Abu Dhabi's leading British international schools. Over the past five years, I have taught and tutored students across the UK and the UAE, helping learners of all abilities develop confidence, improve their understanding and achieve their academic goals.

I currently teach Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Geography and have previously taught Oxford AQA International A-Level Geography, Cambridge Environmental Management and Global Perspectives. My experience ranges from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level, giving me a thorough understanding of the British curriculum and the skills students need to succeed in external examinations.

I hold a PGCE in Secondary Geography, an MSc in Sustainable Planning and Environmental Management, and a BSc (Hons) in Human Geography & Environmental Studies, all from the University of Hertfordshire. Alongside classroom teaching, I have held leadership positions including Head of Humanities and currently serve as an Assistant Head of Year, strengthening my expertise in curriculum planning, assessment and student development.

I believe learning should be engaging, supportive and challenging. Geography is much more than memorizing facts—it's about understanding the world, thinking critically and applying knowledge to real-life issues. My aim is to help students not only achieve excellent examination results but also develop confidence, curiosity and a genuine interest in the subject.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, so I believe lessons should be tailored to the individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you're preparing for GCSE, IGCSE or A-Level Geography, aiming to improve your confidence, or striving for the highest grades, I design every lesson around your goals, strengths and areas for development.

As a qualified British Geography teacher currently teaching Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Geography, I know exactly what examiners are looking for and the common challenges students face. My lessons combine strong subject knowledge with practical exam skills, helping students understand geographical concepts while learning how to apply them effectively in assessments.

A typical lesson begins with reviewing previous learning before introducing new content through clear explanations, interactive discussion and real-world examples. We then apply this knowledge using maps, graphs, case studies, photographs, data interpretation and exam-style questions. Every lesson finishes with personalized feedback, targeted advice and clear next steps so that progress is continuous and measurable.

I place particular emphasis on command words, extended writing, geographical inquiry and examination technique, ensuring students develop the confidence to tackle even the most demanding questions. Alongside improving grades, I aim to help students become independent learners by teaching effective revision techniques, study skills and strategies that they can continue using long after our lessons.

I teach students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level, including learners following Pearson Edexcel, Cambridge International and Oxford AQA International specifications. I also support EAL learners and students requiring additional guidance, adapting my teaching style to suit every individual's needs.

My goal is simple: to create engaging, supportive and challenging lessons that help every student enjoy Geography, grow in confidence and achieve their full academic potential.
