About Lulu

I am an English teacher and a lifelong learner with a strong interest in language, education, and personal growth. I completed both my Master of Teaching (Secondary) and Master of TESOL at the University of Melbourne, where I developed a solid foundation in both theory and classroom practice.

Over the past ten years, I have worked with a wide range of learners, including teenagers and adults from diverse language and cultural backgrounds. This experience has shaped my understanding of the challenges learners face, especially when studying, working, or settling in an English-speaking environment.

I am patient, supportive, and attentive to individual differences. I value creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable to express themselves, make mistakes, and gradually build confidence.

Outside of teaching, I continue to learn and reflect on my practice, as I believe that good teaching comes from ongoing growth and understanding.

Perfect! Lulu seems very nice, approachable and knowledgeable in teaching my friend English as her native language is Mandarin. We have just completed our first lesson with Lulu and it went very well. Our purpose is not for academic study, just to help with everyday living in Australia and I have every confidence Lulu’s tutoring will greatly help. She was also kind enough to do a pre assessment to gauge my friends knowledge prior to us committing to the lessons which was much appreciated. She was also very understanding of our specific situation and requirements and has really tried her best to be accommodating. So far we are very impressed and look forward to more lessons with Lulu.

My rates are tailored to reflect your learning goals, level, and the level of support required. Lessons focusing on academic English and exams such as IELTS, PTE, and TOEFL involve more in-depth preparation, targeted strategies, and detailed feedback, and are therefore priced accordingly.

Each lesson includes personalised planning and, where needed, customised materials and practice tasks to support your progress beyond the lesson itself.

Lessons can be conducted online or in person. For travel, an additional fee may apply depending on the distance.

A 24-hour cancellation policy applies. This allows me to manage my schedule effectively and ensure availability for all students.
