About Vidjea

I love learning languages as it helps me get a deeper understanding of other cultures and experience an authentic interaction with the locals whilst travelling. In the last few years, I have learnt Spanish and currently learning Japanese. This keeps my teaching fresh and also help with your pain points by focusing on specific areas with specific strategies. Be it using mnemonic devices, brain palace or the TTT method.

I teach all age groups and levels. My lessons are fun and engaging with the syllabus embedded be it AQA, EDEXCEL or DELF. My aim is to help you improve your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills and vocabulary. The resources range PowerPoint Presentations, docs, PDFs and a curated set of interactive resources.

I have an excellent track record of successfully preparing students for GCSE, IGCSE and other exam courses. I concept check, include the cultural nuances and contextualise all learning. Since the beginning of my lessons I have found Mrs. Vidjea very helpful and i have experienced a very hands-on approach from her since the very beginning. This keeps me motivated and with her I have truly found the fuel to my fire of learning French as something more than just a school subject. She helped me find the passion and intricacy within the French language and I continue to anticipate for our future lessons. Her lessons are very encouraging and it helps me build my confidence in my learning. There is a clear step-by-step process which we, as a routine, follow through while learning new topics. This system readily prepares me for further exercises within the topic and I leave the lesson prepared and equipped with new subject matter. Mrs Vijdea has always ben observant with my way of learning. She is always earnest and truthful with the different areas in my learning that can be very good and others that need more working on. When doing so Mrs. Vijdea is very specific and carefully explains to me what those aspects of difficulty are and how cognitively and actively we can work together to make those areas better. She encourages me to do so by regularly sending me various links and study resources which I can go to and practise my more difficult topics.

Since I started with Mrs. Vijdea, my ability to learn and understand French has exceeded what I thought could be possible with my experience in the language. I am now one of the tops students of my class, and very compatible with comparing my results with students who are in the top set in French. My school teacher too has seen this dramatic change in my learning.

Learning with Mrs. Vidjea has been a joy from the very start. She has been ever so kind and thoughtful to me, and one can truly see the genuinity and dedication she comes into every lesson. I have found a wonderful relationship of trust and respect for her as my teacher and am truly thankful for how far she has got me till. Every lesson is entertaining and engaging and really drives me to want to learn the language.

About the lesson

I always begin with a free 15-min consultation to get to know your needs and interests and speak to your parent/guardian if applicable. This is followed by an initial assessment which will give me insights to your starting points and learning needs.

We will then discuss and agree on the objectives, progress reporting arrangements, and schedule. The lessons will be tailor-made to your learning needs and the length of of each lesson will depend on your age; for example, typically a 60-min lesson, twice a week is popular with my students of ages 14 and above.

I am qualified to teach both French and English and have been teaching for over 20 years in London. I specialise in GCSE & A level French and teach DELF as well. I have a BA, PGCE, DELTA and a Diplôme Supérieur d'Études Françaises Modernes amongst other language and teaching specific qualifications. My DBS is on the update service.
