Hello, I’m Rhonda — a qualified Guidance Counselor, tutor, and academic skills coach with over 10 years of experience supporting children and young people. I specialize in helping students build strong study habits, confidence, focus, and exam readiness in a calm and encouraging way.
My background includes working in primary and secondary schools, supporting students with time management, revision strategies, listening skills, organization, exam confidence, and test anxiety. I understand that every child learns differently, so my lessons are always personalized, practical, and engaging.

My lesson sessions are structured, supportive, and student-centred. Each session is designed to help students feel confident, focused, and motivated while developing practical academic skills they can use every day. I use a variety of interactive resources, including worksheets, guided activities, visual aids, and my exam confidence workbook, to help students learn in a clear and practical way.
A typical lesson includes:
- A short check-in to understand how the student is feeling and what they need help with
- Clear explanations using age-appropriate language
-Practical activities to build study skills, time management, revision techniques, listening skills, and focus
- Activities from my exam confidence workbook to support calm thinking, positive mindset, and test readiness
- Simple strategies to support exam confidence and reduce test anxiety
- A quick review and goal-setting at the end of each session
Lessons are interactive and tailored to the student’s learning style and pace. I focus on building strong foundations, encouraging independence, and helping students feel more in control of their learning.
