About Lana
Hi, I’m a qualified Japanese teacher with over 4 years of experience teaching Japanese to high school students in Australia. I hold a Master of Teaching and Learning (Secondary) and a Bachelor of Languages majoring in Japanese.
I also lived in Hokkaido, Japan for one year while studying Japanese language, culture, and society at university level. Living in Japan gave me valuable real-world experience using Japanese in everyday life and deepened my understanding of Japanese culture and communication.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence in Japanese through supportive, engaging, and well-structured lessons. Whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for school assessments, or looking to improve your conversational skills, lessons are personalized to suit your goals and learning style.

Grammar-focused, well-structured lessons incorporating Japanese reading, writing, listening, and speaking practice.
Beginner Japanese for adults:
Supportive and practical lessons designed for students starting from little or no Japanese experience. Lessons focus on building strong grammar foundations, conversational Japanese, reading and writing hiragana and katakana, listening and speaking confidence, and understanding Japanese culture and communication. Lessons are personalised and paced to suit each student’s goals and learning style.
High School Japanese Years 7–12:
Support for students needing to catch up, strengthen classroom learning, prepare for assessments, or extend their Japanese skills beyond the classroom. Lessons focus on grammar, vocabulary, speaking confidence, reading comprehension, writing skills, and exam preparation in line with the Australian Curriculum and senior secondary Japanese courses.
