About Oliver
I graduated from the University of Warwick in 2015 with a first class honours BA in History and Politics. I then trained at the University of Cambridge to be a teacher of History, working for two years at a state secondary school in West Sussex. Throughout this time I have tutored multiple students, all of which have given unwaveringly positive feedback about the way I make the subject both engaging and accesible (of course, available upon request).
While I have a strong and proven acaemic and teaching background, I would also consider myself to be highly personable and- for want of a better phrase- 'chilled': not overly bogged down in the nitty gritty as other academics sometimes are. This approach has borne excellent results for my students, both in terms of academic progress as well as their wider engagement in History.

My teaching method has always been rooted in student enagement and interest. History is my passion and I always put that at the centre of my tutoring. However, I also recognise the importance of explaining historical ideas and concepts in an accesible way, with humour, relevance, and concision rather than being wrapped up in convuluted jargon or railroaded by a succesion of dates.
