About CAROLINE

My name is Caroline, and I am a fully qualified secondary school teacher based in County Waterford with 14 years of teaching experience. I teach Irish, Religion and SPHE and have worked with students of all abilities at both Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate level.

I hold a Bachelor of Education degree in Irish, Religion and Education, along with postgraduate qualifications in Sexual Education and Educational Leadership. Throughout my career, I have developed a passion for helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding of the subject material and achieve their academic goals.

As a practicing secondary school teacher, I have an in-depth understanding of the curriculum, assessment methods and examination requirements. This allows me to tailor every lesson to the individual student and provide focused, practical support in a positive and encouraging environment.

I understand that many students find Irish particularly challenging, so I aim to make lessons engaging, accessible and enjoyable while helping students develop the skills they need to succeed.

I pride myself on being approachable, patient and well organized, and I am committed to helping every student reach their full potential.

About the lesson

Every lesson is tailored to the individual student's needs, ability and learning style. Whether a student is aiming to improve confidence, catch up on classwork or achieve a H1 in the Leaving Certificate, lessons are carefully planned to help them reach their goals.

As a practising secondary school teacher with 15 years of classroom experience, I have an in-depth understanding of the Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate Irish curriculum and marking schemes. Lessons are exam-focused while also ensuring students develop a genuine understanding of the language rather than simply memorising answers.

Students can expect clear explanations, guided practice, revision strategies, exam techniques and constructive feedback in a supportive and encouraging environment. I also provide notes, sample answers and targeted practice questions where appropriate.

I work with students of all abilities, including Junior Cycle students, Leaving Certificate students and adults preparing for TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge) examinations. I have extensive experience preparing students for TEG examinations and have maintained a 100% pass rate among previous students.

Lessons are available online and in person in the Waterford area and typically last one hour, although longer sessions can be arranged when required.

Prices start from €40 per hour for Junior Cycle students, €45 per hour for Leaving Certificate students and €50 per hour for TEG preparation.

Caroline is an excellent teacher. She gave grinds to my son throughout both 5th and 6th year and he became so confident in his ability and recieved a H1 in his leaving cert exam. She also gave grinds to my daughter in the run up to the oral exam and again she was so confident going into the exam. I have recommended Caroline to many friends for grinds and will continue to do so.
