About Maria
I am a qualified Japanese language teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Philology (Japanese Language and Literature) and 4 years of teaching experience, including 3 years at a Japanese language school.
I have been studying Japanese for around 12 years and have lived in Japan for almost 5 years, using Japanese in everyday life and communicating regularly with native speakers.
I also completed one year of advanced Japanese language studies in Japan at N2–N1 level and studied for 1.5 years at a Japanese university.
Teaching Japanese is something I genuinely enjoy, and I aim to make my lessons professional, supportive, and comfortable for every student.

My lessons are structured and designed to help you truly understand Japanese rather than simply memorize grammar rules. I create my own presentations and visual learning materials to make even difficult topics clear and easy to follow.
We work on grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and speaking, and new material is reinforced through practical exercises and real-life examples. I also explain how Japanese is actually used in everyday conversations and point out differences between textbook Japanese and natural expressions you will hear in Japan.
Lessons are adapted to your level, pace, and goals. I welcome complete beginners as well as students who have already studied Japanese and want to continue improving.
My goal is to create a comfortable and friendly learning environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and take the time you need to understand each topic.
