About Zareen

I am an experienced and dedicated mathematics teacher with over 25 years of academic teaching experience across school, university and adult learning settings. My teaching background includes secondary mathematics, university-level teaching, data analytics training and personalized academic support for students with different learning needs.

I specialize in helping students understand mathematics in a clear, calm and structured way. I know that many students lose confidence in math when concepts feel rushed or confusing, so I focus on breaking ideas into simple steps, building strong foundations and helping students feel comfortable asking questions.

I currently support students from Year 7 to Year 12, including Year 7–10 Mathematics, Year 11–12 General Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics and Mathematical Methods. I can assist with homework, revision, test preparation, exam strategies, problem-solving skills and confidence building.

What makes my lessons different is my patient and personalized approach. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s level, pace and goals. My aim is not only to help students improve their marks, but also to help them believe that they can succeed in mathematics with the right guidance and practice.

I am professional, reliable and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged and motivated to improve.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is supportive, practical and personalised. I believe students learn best when difficult maths ideas are broken into simple steps, connected to real-life examples and practised with confidence. I first identify each student’s current level, strengths and gaps, then plan lessons that match their pace and learning needs.

In a typical lesson, I begin with a short warm-up or revision activity to check prior understanding. I then explain the new concept clearly, model a few examples step by step, and guide the student through practice questions. As the lesson progresses, I encourage the student to explain their thinking, ask questions and try problems independently. I also provide exam-style questions, problem-solving strategies and feedback to help students improve accuracy and confidence.

What sets me apart is my extensive teaching background. I have over 25 years of academic teaching experience, including university-level teaching, school mathematics teaching and adult education. This allows me to explain concepts in more than one way and adapt my teaching style to suit different learners. I am patient, encouraging and focused on helping students feel capable rather than overwhelmed.

My lessons are suitable for students from Year 7 to Year 10 Mathematics, as well as Year 11 and Year 12 students studying General Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics or Mathematical Methods. I also support students who need help with homework, revision, test preparation, catching up on missed concepts or building stronger foundations in maths.
