About Danny
I’m a fully qualified maths teacher with a PGCE and QTS, currently working in a secondary school. I’ve always loved maths — not just for the right answers, but for the patterns, problem-solving, and satisfaction that come with truly understanding it. I studied Mathematics and History at the University of London and achieved top grades at school, including a 9 at GCSE, an A* at A Level Maths, and an A in A Level Further Maths. I know what it takes to succeed in exams, but more importantly, I know how to make maths feel manageable and even enjoyable. I’m passionate about helping students gain confidence in their abilities. Whether you're preparing for exams or just trying to get to grips with tricky topics, I bring patience, structure, and encouragement to every lesson.

As a qualified maths teacher with a PGCE, QTS, and a degree from the University of London, I bring both subject expertise and classroom experience to my tutoring. I tailor my lessons to each student’s needs, building confidence and understanding through clear explanations, worked examples, and regular practice. I tutor students preparing for 11+, GCSE, and A Level Maths, and I’m happy to support learners of all abilities — whether they’re aiming for top grades or just trying to keep up. My lessons typically last 60 minutes, but I can offer longer or shorter sessions depending on what works best for the student. Lessons can be delivered in person in the Plymouth area or online via video call, with a focus on creating an engaging, supportive, and focused environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress.

I offer a free 1-hour introductory session to all new students. This won’t be a full teaching lesson, but rather a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll use the time to understand where you’re currently at with maths, what your goals are, and how I can best support you moving forward.
It’s a relaxed and pressure-free session designed to help me tailor future lessons to your needs — and to make sure we’re a good fit before we get started properly.
