About Lindsey

I’m Miss B Maths — a proud maths geek who genuinely does maths for fun (who doesn’t?). I work from home most of the time, usually with my two pugs, Dexter and Dotty, snoring nearby, while I tutor students, create maths education content and resources, and travel around the UK delivering training to mathematics teachers. Before that, I spent over ten years as a secondary school maths teacher and Head of Mathematics, leading departments and supporting students of all abilities. I’m professional, enthusiastic and deeply passionate about educational equality, and nothing makes me happier than helping learners recognise their own potential and experience real success in mathematics.

About the lesson

My online maths lessons are one hour long and ideally taken weekly — consistency is key to real progress and long-term confidence. Each session is bespoke, engaging and interactive, tailored to your needs and designed to strengthen understanding through focused retrieval practice, targeted gap-closing, and clear, expert teaching. Lessons take place on Zoom, using interactive tools, modelling and plenty of guided practice to keep you actively involved. You’ll get lots of opportunities to practise during each lesson, and I can provide extra work between sessions if helpful for consolidation. When appropriate, we’ll switch into exam-prep mode, drawing on my experience as a GCSE examiner for three UK exam boards to focus on exam-style questions, timing strategies and the exact techniques examiners want to see. If you want structured weekly support with a friendly, experienced tutor who loves maths and loves helping students succeed — I’d be delighted to work with you!
