About Rob
I worked in the City from age 16-36, studying Maths at the Open University when I was 33-36, I then trained as a teacher (career change, my dad had been a teacher and I always liked the idea). I gained my UK Teaching Qualification in the same, then called GTP. I taught 9 years in the classroom (the grammar school I'd train in offered me a job) - I was lured back to the City by a dream job using maths and previous City industry knowledge. I have now been fortunate to be able to retire early and want to continue helping others find a successful path through the wonderful world of maths.

I taught maths in a UK State Grammar School, rated Outstanding, for 9 years. I can teach KS3 and KS4 and AS Level Maths for any UK exam board. I teach in a very interactive way, questioning along the way - I understand that being stuck in maths can feel awkward and uncomfortable and always want to help get over that feeling. Where students are working towards exams, we will use exam mark schemes to see how to approach different types of questions. I am happy to look over marked homework or exams with pupils. I will focus every session on a student's needs, starting with some discussion of topics to see what current levels of understanding in that area are. I can provide graded practice material with solutions. I look forward to meeting and helping new students who have lost confidence in maths. I particularly enjoy helping GCSE Revision.
