About Wafiq
I am currently studying Mathematical Sciences at University College Cork, where I also serve as the Academic Representative for my course. I achieved a H1 in Leaving Certificate Higher Level Math and received multiple awards for my performance in mathematics throughout school. My strong background in the subject, combined with my experience supporting students both formally and informally, allows me to explain difficult concepts in a clear and approachable way. As Academic Representative, I am trusted to support my peers academically and to communicate effectively on their behalf, which reflects my professionalism and reliability. I provide 1-to-1 Junior and Leaving Certificate Maths grinds (Higher and Ordinary Level). My approach is exam-focused, designed to minimise the time students spend on Maths while maximising efficient study and results. A typical lesson is 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s needs and attention span.
I concentrate on identifying weaknesses early and turning them into strengths by working through targeted exam-style questions. My teaching emphasises time management, exam technique, and spotting recurring patterns in past papers so students can gain confidence and work more effectively under pressure.
I have strong experience giving grinds at both Junior and Leaving Cert level, and I adapt lessons to suit each student – whether they are struggling to keep up or aiming for top grades. Sessions are open to all secondary school students, with a focus on exam years where efficiency and results matter most.
