About Gulcin

Hi, I’m Gülçin. I am a highly qualified English language specialist with over nine years of international teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in English Language Teaching, a Master’s degree in English Literature and Linguistics, and have a second Master’s degree in Teaching (MTeach).

My professional and personal background is highly intercultural, having lived and studied in Turkey, Poland, South Korea, and Spain, and now based in Northern Ireland. This experience has given me a deep understanding of language learning from both a teaching and a learner perspective.

I teach learners from beginner level up to C1 and specialise in helping students improve fluency, grammar and confidence in English. I have extensive experience teaching academic English in international settings and provide personalised, supportive instruction to help learners achieve their goals, particularly IGCSE and EAL/ESOL students working towards target grades. I am a patient and empathetic teacher who adapts lessons to each learner’s needs and learning style.

In my spare time, I enjoy horse riding, ceramics and sourdough baking!

About the lesson

I have majored in English Language Teaching in the Department of Educational Sciences, hold a Bachelor’s degree as a qualified English teacher, and have a Master’s degree in English Literature and Linguistics. I also have postgraduate studies in Teaching.

My teaching approach is structured, supportive and fully personalised to each learner’s needs. I focus on communication, grammar accuracy and real-life language use, helping students build confidence step by step. I use guided practice, interactive activities, and digital resources, such as games and online platforms, to make lessons engaging and effective.

I have 9 years of experience teaching both young and adult learners and preparing students for Cambridge, Trinity and Aptis examinations. For beginners, I use structured textbooks, and for other levels, I design tailored materials to suit specific learning needs. I particularly enjoy using communicative and experiential learning approaches to support real-life language use and long-term progress.
