About Kirsty

I am a qualified educator with over 12 years of experience in education, including roles as a Teaching Assistant, Primary School Teacher, and full-time online tutor. I specialise in supporting primary-aged learners in Maths and English, with a strong focus on SATs preparation and 11+ entrance exams.

Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of learners, helping them to build strong foundations, improve confidence, and make steady academic progress. I am experienced in adapting my teaching to suit individual needs, ensuring that every student feels supported and challenged appropriately.

I am passionate about creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and able to succeed. My aim is always to help learners not only improve their results, but also develop confidence and independence in their learning.

About the lesson

My lessons are calm, structured, and highly engaging, designed to build confidence as well as academic progress. I use a mix of direct teaching, guided practice, and interactive activities to ensure students fully understand each concept before moving on. I also incorporate a wide range of resources, including visual aids, games, and exam-style questions to keep lessons varied and motivating.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are carefully adapted to each student’s needs, whether they are working towards KS1/KS2 goals, SATs preparation, or 11+ entrance exams.

I have over 12 years of experience in education as a Teaching Assistant, Primary School Teacher, and full-time online tutor. This includes extensive experience supporting primary-aged learners in Maths and English, as well as preparing students for SATs and selective school entrance exams.

My lessons are suitable for primary-aged children (KS1 and KS2), particularly those working towards SATs or 11+ exams, as well as learners who need support in building strong foundational Maths skills and confidence.
