About Yuefang

I am a native Mandarin-speaking teacher with formal teaching qualifications. I live in Auckland and have rich experience teaching local children, adult beginners and intermediate-level learners.

I am patient and caring, especially good at working with young kids. I use flashcards, picture books, songs, games and real-life props in children’s lessons to keep classes fun and engaging. For example, an 8-year-old student made wonderful progress in 20 lessons: he mastered self-introduction, talking about family members, basic comparisons, numbers from 1-100 and everyday-life vocabulary.

For adults, I will design systematic lesson plans according to your goals, whether you start completely from zero or already have some basic skills.

Pricing note: Standard rates apply for lessons at my place and online classes. For home visits within 10 km, there is no extra charge. Additional travel costs will be discussed for trips further than 10 km.

I would love to help you build confidence and make steady progress in Chinese. Book a trial lesson with me!

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, level and learning goals.

For children: Classes are activity‑based. We learn Chinese through games, picture books, songs and role‑play. I focus on listening‑speaking first to help kids build interest without pressure. Progress will be tracked step‑by‑step.

For adult learners: We can work on daily conversation, pronunciation, grammar, reading and practical Chinese for work or travel. We will follow a clear‑term study plan.

All students will get simple homework and learning materials after class. I am happy to adjust the pace anytime according to how you feel. Trial lessons are available.
