About Emma

I am a qualified teacher with several years’ experience working with secondary school students, including GCSE and A-Level.

My background is in Psychology, and I have supported students both academically and more broadly with areas such as confidence, focus and managing exam pressure.

Through my teaching experience, I have worked closely with teenagers at different ability levels, helping them to:

build a clearer understanding of subject content
develop effective revision strategies
improve exam technique and written responses
grow in confidence and independence over time

I take a calm, structured and supportive approach, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with their learning.

I understand that every student is different, so I tailor sessions to suit their needs, whether they require academic support, help with organization and focus, or a confidence boost in their studies.

My aim is always to help students feel more capable, more in control, and better prepared for their exams.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is focused on both academic progress and building the skills students need to feel more confident and independent in their learning.

I work with students to:

break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps
improve exam technique and essay structure (especially for Psychology)
build confidence through small, consistent wins
develop better focus, organisation and revision habits

Many students don’t struggle because of ability, but because they feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start. I help them develop a clearer approach so they feel more in control of their work.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes, delivered online, and are tailored to each student’s needs. I keep sessions structured but supportive, so students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the material.

I am a qualified teacher with several years’ experience working with teenagers, including GCSE and A-Level students. Alongside subject knowledge, I have a strong focus on supporting students with confidence, motivation and managing academic pressure.

My lessons are suitable for:
