With extensive experience teaching students across a broad spectrum of abilities and learning styles, I am adept at quickly identifying the most effective methods to teach complex scientific concepts in chemistry. I currently specialise in teaching high-attaining Grammar school students (typically achieving grades 7-9 at GCSE and B-A* at A-Level) the AQA Triple chemistry course and OCR A level chemistry. I have previously taught AQA and Edexcel A level chemistry and Edexel IGCSE and have years of experience teaching Triple Science, Combined Science (Higher and Foundation), to students who find chemistry more challenging.
Though I specialize in A-Level Organic Chemistry, I have experience of teaching the whole curriculum and enjoy revisiting non-specialist topics.
My approach involves assessing your current level through examining past assessments, classwork, and through verbal interactions to pinpoint your strengths and areas for improvement. Together, we will target the content you find challenging, with a focus on thorough understanding (be prepared for whiteboard work!) and exam readiness. We will practice past paper questions until you can confidently tackle them on your own, and I will share as many of my resources with you as you wish.
I offer both in-person and online lessons, with sessions ranging from 1 to 2 hours. For in-person lessons, I provide necessary materials, including a whiteboard and pen, periodic table and a calculator :)
