Profession of an educator is one of the most important ones. I love my job, but responsibility is huge and it requires commitment from a teacher. The main problem with learning the subject is a lack of confidence. I have seen it over the years that pupils, who were perfectly capable of succeeding in mathematics, were not making sufficient progress and it was primarily due to a lack of confidence. It is my job to work out what is preventing a student from learning and explaining, reassuring and most importantly proving to pupils that they are indeed more than capable of learning the material and when the time comes passing their exams. I tell all prospective pupils that to progress in mathematics a few things are essential: focusing in a lesson and understanding the method well; in order to develop the fluency, a lot of practice is needed in applying that method in different scenarios and last but not the least, to help with the knowledge retention, the regular revision sessions are required and also completion of a homework. My first session is provided free of charge and I use this session to understand the needs of prospective pupils by having a detailed and honest discussion with the pupil and their parents. I am able to travel up to 20 miles distance for in-person sessions, which means I would travel anywhere in London and also some parts of Essex. Also, I can provide a double (two hour) lessons where pupil can have a short break in the middle.
