About Karen
I have always enjoyed helping students develop skills and gain confidence in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I have been teaching and tutoring since 2014. I have taught in Cork ('14 - '17), Luton ('17 - '19) and Manchester ('19 - '22). I therefore have access to a huge range of resources and experience. I hold a BSc from NUIG, Ireland, a HDip in Theological Studies from St. Patrick's College Maynooth and a BSc in Education from UCC, Ireland.

I will work with the student to assess their areas of weakness and to create a plan of action to increase their confidence in science. Our first lesson will primarily be creating this plan to ensure I can provide the best and most suitable support to the student. I will place emphasis on exam techniques to ensure the student is confident in the end goal of sitting their examination. Having taught and tutored students from a range of schools my aim is to get students to develop confidence in science and in sitting exams. Lessons are tailored to each individual. Each lesson will also focus on examination questions as I believe practice makes perfect and this is one of the best ways to build confidence when facing exams. My lessons resources will be the same resources that I use in my own classroom and have proven to help students in their learning of the subject. I will also be happy to help the student with topics they are covering in class to ensure they are consolidating their knowledge. Lessons are typically 1 hour and delivered online.
