About Alexis
Hi, I’m Alexis, I am a qualified secondary teacher with several years of classroom experience and over 5 years of tutoring experience from Primary through to Senior High School. I’ve taught across Years 7–12 in Psychology, Science, Mathematics, History, and Geography, as well as applied subjects like Tourism and Social & Community Studies. My specialisation is in Psychology and Humanities subjects, where I’ve supported students with both curriculum content and assessment skills.
I love teaching because I’m passionate about helping students reach their full potential. For me, it’s not just about grades — it’s about fostering growth, curiosity, and wonder, and using each student’s strengths to build their confidence. The best part of teaching is seeing that smile when a student surprises themselves and says, “I did it!”
I’ve worked with students of all abilities, including those who struggle with focus or motivation, and I’m committed to helping them achieve their goals at their own pace. Whether it’s preparing for an exam, improving study skills, or just making a tricky topic easier to understand, I enjoy seeing students succeed and feel proud of their learning.

As a professional educator, my approach to teaching begins with building strong relationships with students. I use their strengths to build confidence while supporting them in the areas they find more challenging.
Sessions typically run for 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the student’s needs. Alongside teaching content, I also provide drafting support, feedback, and assignment preparation to help students feel more confident with their work and assessments.
I offer a free 30-minute trial session — this is a chance for us to meet, discuss your goals, and plan how I can best support your learning. It’s not a full lesson, but it helps us make sure we’re a great fit before moving forward.
With over 5 years of tutoring experience and several years of classroom teaching, I understand the expectations of both students and curriculum. My lessons are designed for Years 7–12 and are delivered online, making learning flexible, accessible, and tailored to individual needs.
For Science, Psychology, and Maths, I focus on breaking down complex concepts into simple steps, using problem-solving strategies, real-world examples, and exam preparation techniques. I also support students with assessment writing, including reports and extended responses, to help them build both subject knowledge and communication skills.

My standard rate is $50/hr, with lesson packs available at a discounted rate (5 hours for $240, 10 hours for $480). Sessions are flexible in length, running from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your needs.
I also offer shorter support options for students who only need targeted help — for example, feedback on a draft or assistance with assessment preparation. These can be arranged at a reduced rate.
All lessons are delivered online, making them convenient and accessible. The first 30-minute session is free as a trial to meet, set goals, and plan the best way forward.
