About Ray
Hello! My name is Ray, and I am a qualified secondary teacher with nearly four years of public-school teaching experience, as well as additional experience teaching at the college level.
I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education majoring in Social Studies and a Master of Arts in Educational Management. I am also a licensed professional teacher and hold teacher registrations in Australia and a Practicing Certificate with the New Zealand Teaching Council.
I have experience teaching Social Studies, Humanities, English-related subjects, research, academic writing, and other senior secondary subjects. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of different abilities and learning needs, helping them develop not only their academic knowledge but also their confidence and communication skills.
As your tutor, I will provide a supportive, respectful, and comfortable learning environment. I believe every student can improve when lessons are adapted to their individual needs and learning style. I am patient, approachable, and happy to explain concepts in different ways until they become clear.

I am a qualified secondary teacher with nearly four years of public-school teaching experience, along with additional experience teaching at the college level. I specialize in Social Studies, Humanities, English, academic writing, research skills, and study support.
My teaching approach is personalized, practical, and student-centered. I first identify the student's current level, learning needs, and goals, then adjust each lesson to suit their ability and learning style. I explain concepts clearly using simple examples, guided activities, discussions, questions, and practical exercises. I also encourage students to participate actively and develop confidence rather than simply memorizing information.
My lessons are suitable for secondary students, senior high school students, and learners who need additional support with Humanities, Social Studies, essay writing, assignments, presentations, research, and study skills.
A typical lesson is 45–60 minutes, depending on the student's age, level, and learning goals. Each session can include a short review, introduction of the topic, guided practice, discussion or activities, and a summary of what the student has learned.
As an experienced teacher, I aim to create a friendly and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while learning. My goal is not only to help students improve their academic performance but also to develop their confidence, critical thinking, communication, and independent learning skills.
