About Amna

I chose to teach languages because I grew up speaking three languages: Italian, Urdu, and English. Speaking multiple languages from a young age made learning new ones a natural step for me, so I went on to study French and Spanish at university and earned my degree in Secondary Education from the University of Stirling.
To deepen my fluency and cultural understanding, I have lived, studied, and taught abroad in Belgium, France, and Spain. Having navigated learning new languages myself, I know what it takes to build real fluency and confidence. I love languages and I love teaching, so here I am!

About the lesson

I focus on active, interactive learning to make grammar and vocabulary stick naturally without feeling like a chore. Using tailored games, quizzes, and real-life scenarios, I keep lessons engaging, structured, and enjoyable.

What a typical lesson looks like:
• Warm-Up & Vocabulary: Interactive games or flashcard quizzes to reactivate prior knowledge.
• Targeted Core: Breaking down new grammar or topic themes using clear, practical examples.
• Speaking & Application: Structured role-play and conversation to immediately use what you've learned.

Speaking is the single most crucial skill when mastering a language, which is why my one-to-one lessons prioritise speaking practice from day one. Whether you are preparing for SQA exams (National 5, Higher) or learning for travel and work, every lesson is adapted entirely to your pace and goals in a supportive, pressure-free environment.
