About Ellie
I'm an approachable and enthusiastic qualified teacher and tutor, with a physics degree, 5+ years' experience, and - most importantly - a long-standing love of science. I particularly enjoy meeting students where they’re at, and developing their confidence by supporting independent practise. Making the tricky ideas feel achievable and engaging is one of my favourite parts of tutoring - I especially love those lightbulb moments when something clicks!
My qualifications:
Postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE),
Qualified teacher status (QTS),
Bachelor’s degree in physics (first class),
A level physics, maths, psychology (A*A*A*),
GCSE triple science (A*A*A*),
DBS certified.

Having been a classroom science teacher, and an online tutor for over 5 years, I have a deep understanding of KS3 science and GCSE physics. Each lesson is based on the curriculum/exam board and tailored to each student’s need, supporting learning and independent practice through an 'I do, we do, you do’ structure. I also use a mix of slides, digital whiteboards, videos, real-world examples, and worksheets that students can keep after each session. Lessons last one hour and are delivered on Microsoft Teams (no account needed!).
