About Madeline
Since I was raised by a family of artists, capturing, creating, and documenting moments has always come naturally to me. But the first moment I fell in love with photography was when I was 16 and I shot my little heart out. Now I’m in my mid 20’s currently focusing on commercial and mainly restaurant photography. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for quite some time. I not only understand the effort and precision that goes behind food and beverages but also what looks good from the placement of garnishes, to the lighting and shadows that capture the beauty and intimacy of chefs' or bartenders' story behind their creativity. I capture my emotions. When I’m in love, I capture intimacy. When I’m heartbroken, I capture the shadows that hide behind sadness and desire. When I feel mentally overwhelmed I capture lines and lighting that make clean angles look consistent. People compliment how straight and clean my photos are. I just show my gratitude, but in all truth, the clean lines you see are not talent. I capture those lines to balance myself out because all I want to feel is consistent, balanced, and welcoming. In conclusion, If you have read Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel, my passion for photography is that book. Except it would be called Like Light for photography.
