About Raj

- What kind of experience do you have? I have taught students up to A levels. Most of my new students are because of good recommendations given by my old /existing students. Most of the students are finally achieving 8 or 9 grade. Teaching is my hobby and passion. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes - Tell me about some of your current students. Teaching many students at A, GCSE , KS3 and KS2 level. All have moved up by at least 1 or 2 grades

About the lesson

My focus is to build strong fundamentals. Each student is different, so is the teaching pattern. Regular homework and assessment are part of the tuition. I also provide revision notes. A few toppers at Independent and Grammar schools are my students. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Maths and Science at A Level, GCSE, KS3, KS2 and 13+, 11+ - Tell me about your qualifications. I am a graduate in Engineering Sciences and MBA. I do a lot of academic and research work and have been teaching for several years with excellent results. Please feel free to read my feedback. - How much do you charge? A Level GBP 35 /Hr, GCSE - GBP 30/ Hr and GBP 50 for 2 Hrs KS3, KS2 and 11+ - GBP 25/ Hr. Concession available to deserving students. - Where do you teach? I teach at home. - When are you available? Weekdays - Late afternoon and Evening Weekend - Any time - Which ages and levels do you teach? From year 5 to year 11 in the age group of 10 to 16 years - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? For getting into Grammar Schools, Independent Schools and comprehensive schools...11+, 13+ , GCSE and A level. - Describe your arrangements for online tutoring. Perfect! My son did his GCSEs during the CoViD period - Oct 2020 to Jun 22

Although very capable, he never had the disposition of the natural academic who would be engrossed and engaged with passion in their studies. Coupled with a lack of self discipline and prone to getting distracted, studying from home for the entire year 10, took a devastating toll on his academic perfomance. The results of the early asessments into Year 11 made it absolutely clear the situation was particularly bleak with the grades in Combined Sciences and Maths predicted to be 5

After coming across Raj's profile on Superprof, I contacted him in December 2021. He tried to establish a holistic understanding about my son his character, nature, aptitude and struggles. He asked about my expectations from the lessons and then managed them realistically. He made it quite clear that I shall have an equally pivotal role to play in the upcoming months to ensure that my son is disciplined and and applies himself as required

We were then fortunate enough to visit him in person for the introductory session and that clinched the deal. Raj has a distinctly striking sincere, engaging and humorous demeanour. That helped to break the ice with my son and put him at ease and comfort right from get-go and established such a strong rapport that made my son motivated and eager looking forward to his next lesson. I noted that level of engagement in my son from the very first lesson. I distinctly remember my son mentioning after the first few lessons how he was now enjoying Biology which had become his favourite science - which he used to struggle with the most at school

The other aspect which stood out with Raj is his professionalism when it came to preparing supplementary material to help with his lessons. It is clinical. He is armed and prepared with quick reference revision notes and has a very firm grasp on the textbooks that can help most effectively and efficiently at different stages

Once the lessons started and Raj had a better feel of the effort required, he guided me on how best and how often to plan for lessons and even calmed my nerves. He was extremely accommodating in making himself available during especially around the holiday periods to ensure that the momentum was not lost and the ground was covered

As difficult as it is to get blood out of a stone, I managed to get the following feedback from my son about Raj

- Thoroughly welcoming, engaging making lessons humorous and enjoyable
- Persistently striving to ensure that he provides all the help that may be needed

At the end of his GCSEs my son attained a 7 across the board in Science and Maths - such a spectacular result in just over four months - and in such a way that made the journey so enjoyable and fun for my son rather than a hard grind

My son took double sciences in IGCSE last year. When he took mock exams at school in February, the result were not good and I found out that he was struggling with Physics and Chemistry. However, with the tutor`s help, he was able to gain double A*.
