About Dimash

Hi, I’m Dimash. I have been studying Physics for over a decade, having first discovered the subject through Olympiad training and quickly developed a lasting passion for it.

My academic achievements include:
• Ranking 12th out of ~500 in my Natural Sciences cohort at the University of Cambridge
• Scoring 9.0/9.0 in the Natural Sciences Admissions Assessment (NSAA)
• Achieving three A* grades in Physics, Maths, and Further Maths and A in Biology
• Gold Medal — Asian Physics Olympiad, 2021
• Silver Medal — International Physics Olympiad, 2021 and 2022
• First Place — Kazakhstan National Physics Olympiad, 2021

With over seven years of tutoring experience, I have taught more than 50 students, including Olympiad participants and students who have received offers from leading UK universities.

I adapt my teaching to each student’s individual needs, creating personalised materials that reflect their goals, strengths, areas for improvement, and preferred learning style.

About the lesson

Simplificare ut intelligas - Simplify to understand. With 7+ years of tutoring experience, my main goal is to facilitate students' comprehension of complex concepts by deconstructing them into smaller, more manageable components, while also supporting them at their pace and developing their strengths.

My services include:
- Physics GCSE/A-Level
- Maths GCSE/A-Level
- Additional/Further Maths GCSE/A-Level
- Science and Math Based University Admissions Tests (NSAA, ESAT, PAT, etc)
- University Admissions Interview Preparation

My lessons will be held in the following format:
1) Theory: “Practice without theory is blind”
I aim to help students navigate through the theory of the subject incorporating materials such as prepared notes, presentations, and documents.

2) Practice: “And Theory without practice is empty”
Hence, we will work through practice questions gathered from relevant sources (past exams, practice papers, etc) together. This will motivate knowledge application and reinforcement.

3) Reflection: The Feynman Technique says the best way to polish your study process is to explain the material yourself. This is my approach to encouraging students to find their weak areas and reflect on what they have learned. After which I will develop a plan for further lessons to address all questions and concerns.

Every session is modified to suit the needs of each individual. A session is expected to last approximately an hour, but may take longer depending on additional work or materials.
