About Emily
As a teacher with over 20 years of classroom, substituting and tutoring experience, I can say I've done it all from teaching Kindergarten to subbing AP Physics. I'm a skilled communicator, who gives clear instructions and expectations. Working closely with the student's classroom teacher to do more than supplement the homework assignments, my support assists the student to develop key reading skills, such as how to draw inferences and central ideas, analyze texts, and find meaning and thematic structure in the reading. I work closely with each student to develop and nurture their narrative, persuasive, and informational writing techniques.
