About Catherine
I am licensed in the state of Ohio in Elementary Education K-8 and as an Intervention Specialist/Special Education K-12. I have extensive training and experience as a Reading Specialist and a Dyslexia Specialist. I have been working with students from kindergarten through high school for more than 20 years including public school, private school and home settings. I have worked with a home school student for the past 2 school years. After struggling at the high school level, he now earns all A's and B's. My current case load includes a 2nd grader for reading fluency, a 3rd grader for reading comprehension, another 3rd grader for reading decoding, a 4th grader for math skills, a 5th grader for math skills, an 8th grader for math and reading skills and a high school student for an entire online high school curriculum.

My approach is individualized. When I initially meet with a student I assess current skill levels and goals that the student hopes to accomplish. I am constantly evaluating student progress and adapting lessons according to student need. I am friendly and very supportive. In addition to building skills and academic mastery I work to build confidence and self esteem based on visible progress of success in the curriculum.
