About Jennifer
My Ph.D. is in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Language and Literacy. I have taught students for 30 years who struggle with reading, including those who have dyslexia and I am trained in Orton Gillingham approach to reading.
It is important to enjoy learning to read because it is a skill that will be used for a lifetime. All lessons are full of encouragement and building on successes.

With 4 years teaching preschoolers, 15 years teaching elementary students to read and providing dyslexia therapy, and 11 years equipping future educators in reading instruction, I have a system for helping struggling and dyslexic readers gain confidence and mastery.
All lessons are based in the science of reading. Students are engaged in active learning activities to grow the skills needed to become a reader. This is paired with a short follow up lesson with the parent/guardian to partner with them as an important part of the teaching team who will support their child's academic growth.

**Amplio dyslexia sessions are now available! I am the only private tutor that has access to the Amplio platform. This platform uses MTA (Multisensory Teaching Approach) and classes can happen from your home or anywhere that has an internet connection. If your child needs dyslexia therapy and they are in private school, homeschooled, or just want extra help over the summer, you now have a new way to receive therapy.
There is a $250 initial yearly fee to purchase an individual license from Amplio and for their onboarding. My fee is $50.00 per 45 minute session. Let me know if I can answer any of your questions or get your child started.
