About Becky
I have been teaching for nearly a quarter of a century! I truly have a passion for helping students achieve their goals and build confidence. EVERYONE can ACHIEVE! I find out what the student's interests and passions are and I incorporate that into my lessons. This makes learning individualized and personal. I measure progress with carefully collected data, so as to track progress and alter my plans as needed to produce results.

I have studied a variety of methods to help students "break the code" and learn to become fluent readers. It CAN be done! The methods I use are research based and are rooted in the most sound research, done by Orton and Gillingham.
But most importantly, my lessons are FUN!!!! I believe that students must be engaged and interested in order to learn and make progress. "Skill and drill" lessons simply aren't enough! Children need research based methods presented to them in an exciting and fun way! They need to develop a LOVE for learning as well as critical skills in order to succeed.
