Hi [Student's Name], welcome to your first driving lesson! we're going to take things slow and get comfortable with the vehicle before we head out on the road. The goal is to make sure you understand the car’s controls and how it responds.
1. Seat & Mirror Adjustment
Let's start by adjusting your seat so your feet reach the pedals comfortably.
"Now check your rearview and side mirrors—adjust them so you can see clearly behind and beside the car."
2. Controls Overview
steering wheel, the gas pedal, the brake, and the gear shift. Since we're in an automatic car, you'll mostly use Drive (D), Reverse (R), Park (P), and Neutral (N)."
"This is your handbrake or parking brake. And here’s how you use your turn signals, lights, and wipers."
3. Starting the Car
"Now go ahead and start the engine. Keep your foot on the brake while shifting into Drive."
4. Moving & Stopping
"We’ll start with a slow drive around the lot. Ease off the brake gently and apply the gas very lightly."
"When you want to stop, press the brake slowly—don’t slam it."
5. Steering Practice
"Now let’s work on your steering. Keep your hands at 9 and 3 or 10 and 2. Make smooth turns as we follow this loop."
