About Taylor
Hi! I’m Taylor, your crochet tutor! My crochet journey started when I was just 12 years old, armed with nothing but determination and a hook. Completely self-taught, I spent countless hours practicing stitches, unraveling mistakes, and perfecting techniques until crochet became second nature. By the time I was 16, I had turned my passion into a business, selling handmade pieces and, more importantly, designing my own patterns—a process that quickly became my favorite part of the craft. There’s something incredibly rewarding about bringing a new design to life, knowing that others will use my patterns to create something uniquely their own. While amigurumi is my specialty—I love shaping characters and creatures with nothing but yarn and a hook—I also design and create clothing, blankets, and other fiber arts. I approach crochet with both a creative and analytical mindset, ensuring that my patterns are not only visually appealing but also clear, precise, and easy to follow. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crocheter, I strive to make my designs enjoyable, accessible, and full of personality. Beyond my crochet world, I have a deep love for learning, storytelling, and exploration. I hold a degree in forensic psychology, am in the process of finishing another in archaeological anthropology, and will soon begin my master’s program in forensic psychology. My academic background influences the way I think, fueling my attention to detail and structured approach to design. But when I’m not buried in research or working on a crochet project, you’ll find me indulging in another passion of mine—writing. I’m an author of adult novels, crafting intricate worlds, complex characters, and compelling narratives. Writing, like crochet, is a form of creation, and I love the process of building something from nothing—whether it’s a story or a new crochet design. Crochet has been a constant in my life—something that has grown and evolved with me over the years—and I love being able to share that passion with others. I look forward to tutoring you and helping you on your journey to becoming a crochet pro!
