About Nicholas
I've been giving lessons in Philosophy for the last year and a half, and have taught four students from the University of Edinburgh and prospective students for Oxford and Cambridge University. I have coached my students in general philosophical issues, Logic exams, and Oxbridge interview preparation. I achieved a high 2:i from St John's College, Cambridge. I scored the highest mark in my cohort in my first year Logic exams.

I am an enthusiastic and friendly tutor, focused on creating an enjoyable academic environment. My approach is analogous to those tutorials I have at Cambridge – an engaging discussion takes place in which the student reaches new ideas and conclusions through guidance, ultimately being pushed to articulate the ideas they initially had trouble with, now equipped with new connections around the topic. I'm happy to take on single students or small groups. I have experience teaching GCSE, A-level, university preparation and university exam revision.

As a tutor, Nick is very patient and helped me build my confidence in Maths. His explanations were really clear and he also made the lessons fun and engaging!
After struggling to engage with theory, during my social sciences degree, Nick kindly gave me a handful of lessons to clear things up. The lessons were fantastic- Nick asked the right questions to help me form my own answers, as well as explaining concepts when I needed more information. He has a contagious passion for philosophy as well as academic rigour where it counts.
