About Anthony

I am a recent college graduate of North Park University with a Bachelors of Science with a major in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. Currently, I am working at a different university as a research associate to assist in the further understanding of Covid-19. Aside from the sciences and lab work, I have been playing the violin for 18 years and have served as my university's concert master for four semesters.
Over my four year college career, I had the opportunity to teach a variety of different subjects including Writing at the middle school and high school level, violin at the beginner level, and scientific writing at college level. In total, I have taught over 50 students, most of whom were my underclassmen, and I am glad to say I have seen great improvement over each of my students!

About the lesson

As a violinist who has had 18 years of private instruction from multiple teachers, I understand what works best for me as a student; however, what I have found out through my four years of teaching is that what works well for me may not work quite as well for others.
Although I will focus on biology, I have learned from teaching a variety of classes, from prekindergarten to college level, that every student I encounter is different and I must take a different approach in order for them to take something beneficial out of each lesson. While understanding this, I keep in mind to not be too critical on a student's weakness on a subject but instead, reinforce their strengths and help them build off of it.
