About Joseph
I’m an incoming PhD student with full funding through the National Institutes of Health. I will be working my second summer as a biological science REU Research/Teaching Assistant. I am also involved in non-profits that aim to increase educational resource availability to underserved populations. I have taught a virology class independently as well as been a summer camp counselor for middle school students to increase their exposure to biological concepts.

I believe in a self-driven education that students can carry through their lives as being a learner doesn’t stop when you’re not in the classroom anymore. I guide students to think about the correct answer and to explain their reasonings. I do assign minimal out of session work so students are practicing concepts when we aren’t in a session.
