About Laura
My name is Laura and I have my bachelors in Psychology from the University of Puget Sound. Along with psychology I studied Spanish, including completing a semester abroad in Granada, Spain. While abroad, I got my DELE certificate which demonstrates my proficiency in Spanish.
Learning Spanish was not easy for me at first, so I am committed to trying to help others have a better experience with foreign language learning. During undergrad I researched how a phenomenon called Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA) impacts adolescents and adults learning second languages. I also studied how to mitigate the negative effects of FLA and will implement those findings into my tutoring.

I want to make learning a new language an enjoyable experience with rewarding results.
We will start by discussing your language background to understand the appropriate level of instruction.
Once we establish your level, we will set specific goals. These goals will be the roadmap for the remainder of our lessons and we will check in on them regularly.
My goal is to keep my students excited and motivated to keep studying the language and steadily reach proficiency.
