About Sophia
I recently graduated from Colorado College with an American Chemical Society certified BA in chemistry. At Colorado College I studied under the prestigious Otis Barnes Scholarship and excelled academically in courses at the intersection of chemistry, biology, environmental science, and physics. A highlight of my time at Colorado College was working as a peer tutor and teaching assistant for science courses.
I am passionate about working with youth and young adults. This summer I led youth backpacking and camping trips across Colorado and during the fall, I will be working as an environmental science and outdoor education instructor. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, hiking, running, rock climbing, and skiing.

I love teaching science and helping students work through and understand complex topics. While tutoring, rather than just giving students answers, I guide them through the entire problem-solving process. My ultimate goal is to help students build confidence in their scientific reasoning.
I work with students to offer individualized tutoring for their unique learning style. My tutoring sessions revolve around hands-on learning and working through practice problems. I also help fill in any gaps in students' knowledge through short lessons and explanations. My tutoring prepares students to confidently work through challenging science problems in class and during exams.
I tutor chemistry, physics, biology, and environmental science for middle and high school students. I offer a free thirty-minute consultation for new students
