About Jacqueline

My name is Jackie and I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford, where I absolutely loved studying Law. I understand studying law can be daunting or confusing at times, and I am keen to help people navigate their way through this so that they can enjoy it as much as I did.
I am currently working as a paralegal and am studying for the Solicitors Qualifying Exam, as I will be training to become a solicitor.
Throughout my time at University I was involved in several mentoring programmes where I supported sixth form students through their application to different universities.

About the lesson

I am a professional, adaptable and supportive tutor who wants to make sure students achieve the best results they can. My lessons are designed for students of all levels, from those in sixth form either studying law A-level or applying for Law at university, through to those studying for their final undergraduate exams.
My lessons typically range from 1 to 2 hours and I can be flexible according to the needs of specific students. I like to understand what a student wishes to focus on in advance of the lesson, so that I can come thoroughly prepared and so students leave feeling much more confident on the subject. I always plan engaging activities for students so that they can feel confident in applying their knowledge and so they are able to take what they have learnt away from the lessons.
Having gone through the same experiences myself not too long ago, my lessons are informed by first hand knowledge of the process and requirements. I achieved 34 out of 45 on the Law National Admissions Test (LNAT), where the national average was 21.5 and the average Oxbridge admission standard is approximately 27/28. After successfully passing the interview process, I studied my law undergraduate degree at Oxford University.
Over the past four years, I have been involved in multiple mentoring programmes, where I work with students over an extended period of time, providing personal statement feedback, LNAT tutoring, mock interview preparation and any other support they might need.

We had multiple sessions over months where we discussed the personal statement, LNAT, and Oxford interviews. This was invaluable, fully preparing me for all aspects of the application. She went above and beyond to support me through reviewing my personal statement line-by-line several times, marking my practice LNAT essays, and giving me multiple mock interviews. She’s also just incredibly friendly and supportive, which was really motivating during the intense admissions process. I honestly do not think I could have done it without her. She’s highly intelligent, incredibly diligent, and is everything you’re looking for in a tutor. I still go to her for advice now, even after starting my Law degree at Oxford!
