About Naomi
I started tutoring in 2013 and have now tutored for 7 years.
2013 -2014: I began my tutoring career by teaching maths to students locally in Primary and Middle school.
2015-2016: I taught weekly at my school's special education for children with special educational needs and students who were required to take some time out of lessons.
2016-2019: I volunteered weekly at a community centre in Bristol teaching Maths and English
2020: Tutored Maths and Physics online to GSCE and A level students

My methodology focuses on the student's confidence throughout the lesson.
I believe that gaining confidence is one of the most important ways of excelling academically.
With this in mind:
- I always ask the students to identify the area of the subject they do not fully understand. The identification of this area helps the student to become a self-aware learner which is extremely important for further education where you are more independent.
- Once the problem area is identified, I take around 3 questions and do a worked example with them. Here I also encourage the students to ask further questions around the theory.
- After they understand how to do a worked example, I then present them with problems of various difficulty leading up to some exam questions for their specified exam board.
This process allows them to take responsibility for the areas where they struggle. The worked examples show the methodology and allow the students to go into greater depth with the theory behind the problem. Finally, as they solve the questions with increasing difficulty they will build their confidence up enough to be able to answer the exam questions which will therefore make revision far easier.
