About Niamh
Hi, I'm Niamh, a recent Sociology with Criminology graduate with a passion for helping young people feel more confident in their studies.
Alongside completing my degree, I've spent the last 13 years volunteering in my local community, supporting youth clubs, young people, and families. Through this experience, I've learnt the importance of patience, encouragement, and creating a space where people feel comfortable being themselves and asking for help when they need it. As part of my volunteering role, I also supported many young people with CV writing, job searches, university applications, interview preparation, and developing the confidence and skills needed for their next steps in education or employment.
I know from personal experience that studying isn't always easy. I've often struggled with anxiety around coursework, assignments, and exams, so I understand how overwhelming academic pressure can feel. Because of this, I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel heard, encouraged, and confident enough to ask questions without worrying about getting things wrong.
Sociology and Criminology are incredibly interesting subjects, but topics such as theories, research methods, crime and deviance, and essay writing can sometimes feel confusing or intimidating. My goal is to break these topics down into simple, manageable steps and help students develop a stronger understanding of the subject while building confidence in their own abilities.
Whether you're preparing for exams, working on coursework, improving your essay-writing skills, looking for guidance with CV writing, or simply seeking extra support, I tailor lessons to suit your individual needs and learning style.
Above all, I want students to feel supported, capable, and confident in their learning. Everyone learns differently, and I'm committed to helping each student reach their goals in a way that works best for them.
