About Jens
I was born and raised in Berkeley, CA. I love running, hiking, and thinking about math. I have a Bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley and recently finished a PhD from UBC. I have also previously worked as a software engineer, and am currently applying for jobs, mainly in finance and tech. I have done tutoring on the side throughout the past many years of my life, and always really enjoyed it.

I can tutor for most high school or university Math classes, and up to a first-year undergraduate level university level in Computer Science or Physics. I try to tailor the lesson structure to whatever seems most helpful for each particular student. This often includes: -Mini-lectures explaining or clarifying topics -Going over problems together -Coming up with new problems to pose them that will highlight ideas I want to make sure to communicate. I have experience in Math research and software engineering but really take joy in teaching, and pride myself on bringing enthusiasm and kindness to all tutoring sessions :)
