About COLEMAN
I graduated with Latin Honors this year from UCLA (the #1 public university in the US) with a major in neuroscience and a minor in art history. While my art history training taught me how to look at the whole picture of an issue, my neuroscience background has given me immense discipline and hands-on skills in the sciences and humanities alike. Throughout that time, I frequently tutored friends for free to get them through tough chemistry or science-based classes. In my highly competitive high school, I graduated top ten of my class after taking many AP courses while balancing a loaded extracurricular life and tutoring through National Honors Society. Leadership and teaching skills learned from my musical background are highly applicable to tutoring the sciences. I can also speak Spanish if needed (AAPPL certified 2022).
Why tutor? As someone hoping to pursue a career in medicine, skills in patient education is paramount. I have always enjoyed connecting with peers and making learning easier and compatible with how they best understand.

I am a core believer that making yourself interested is the first step to learning. This is best started through engagement in the format a student understands best (i.e., written, auditory, visual, kinesthetic). Applicability is the best part of science. Afterwards, I like to provide a clear explanation after, checking with examples their instructor provided. As a neuroscience graduate from a top public research university, I have learned that asking questions and researching deeper creates a stronger learning environment than drilling sets. Framework first.
