About Mary
I am a recent University of Georgia graduate with a B.S. in Animal Biosciences, and I am attending veterinary school at Auburn University in the fall. My degree and career goals represent my proficiency with science and mathematics topics. I was the managing editor of my school's newspaper for years, so I also have a proven legitimacy with English and literature. I have experience tutoring students of all ages and am willing to teach a variety of subjects. I am here to meet the needs of the student and understand that everyone learns in a different way, so I have a variety of tools to make it work for every student.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my combination of scientific and literature experience. I am very proficient in teaching all levels Pre-K to undergraduate in math and science, and have extensive writing and editing experience. My lessons begin with an assessment, whether that is a quiz or a conversation about the student's concerns, I like to have an idea of the areas we need to focus on. Depending on the subject, I would then take some time explaining the topic in multiple ways and working through example problems. I then assist students in working through problems on their own until they can correctly explain their process. Lessons are targeted to the students themselves and their unique needs. I know that every student is capable of achieving any academic goal, the challenge is just to find the way they learn best! SAT/ACT tutoring will include more individual work with preparation material recommendations.
