About Amna
I completed my HBSc degree in Behaviour, Genetics and Neurobiology from the University of Toronto in June 2018.
I've been tutoring for 4+ years (have had students go from hating Functions & Advanced Functions to loving them!)
Currently working in Research and Evaluation at a not-for-profit in the Developmental Disabilities sector!

I quickly understand the students' best learning techniques in the first couple of lessons and cater my lessons accordingly.
My two primary strategies are:
1. Teaching by example: explain basic solutions step-by-step while checking for student's understanding along the way
2. Using guided questions: to allow for the student to learn to approach tricky questions by themselves, I have them solve at least 2-3 challenging problems. Throughout this process, rather than giving them answers, I guide them to think of approaches they could use and which they think would be best in any given scenario
