About Toby
Hi, I’m Toby. I’ve just finished my A-levels where I studied Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Biology. At GCSE I got 10 grade 9s, including in Maths and the Sciences.
I’ve done a bit of tutoring before in GCSE Maths, and I’m looking to help other students improve and feel more confident in the subjects. I remember what it’s like preparing for GCSEs and A-levels, so I try to explain things in a way that actually makes sense rather than overcomplicating them.

My lessons are for GCSE and A-Level students studying Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry or Biology. I’ve tutored GCSE Maths before, which has helped me get better at explaining things in a clear and simple way.
In lessons, I focus on making sure the main ideas actually make sense before moving on to exam questions. I usually work through problems with students and encourage them to ask questions as we go, so nothing gets left unclear and they can build confidence with the topic.
Lessons are normally an hour long and I just adapt them depending on what the student needs, whether that’s going over a specific topic, revising, or practising exam questions. I’ve only recently finished my A-levels, so I’m familiar with the content and what tends to come up in exams, which helps when giving advice or explaining things.
