About Ya
I received a grade 9 in GCSE French and am now doing it A-level. I take great enthusiasm in learning languages and speak Spanish, Hindi, Korean as well. I give a 5 min minute break after 30 minutes of the lesson to allow students to comprehend any new content that they've learnt (also because an attention span lasts for a maximum of 30 minutes or so in kids)
I am free to help with any homework or study material inquiries that students may have outside lessons as well!

From personal experience, learning a new language requires a level of confidence to make mistakes and try.
So, I start of by evaluating the level of French my student knows and building confidence on that and then moving on to more "complex" things.
I often speak French in the lesson to familiarise the student with the language and stick to real life scenarios, to build on French that actually will be useful in the real world! Which in return, would help with the students' involvement in school lessons, etc.
I teach younger years (KS2 and KS3) and use power points during lessons and set small homework tasks based on the lesson we had (maximum 15-20 mins) conscious of the school work or rest time they require.
I also recommend videos and sites I've used to build my French vocab to attain high grades and confidently speak in Paris when I was on vacation! :)
