About Alex
I received a PhD in economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During my time as an undergraduate at Willamette University, I achieved straight A's in economics courses, and I supplemented my studies with courses in mathematics and political science. (concealed information)

Economics may seem confusing, but with the right tools anyone can master the approach. Economists have a particular way of thinking. Once you learn the foundations, the entire subject will make sense. For instance, cost/benefit analysis appears repeatedly throughout micro and macro courses. So do supply and demand. Attempting to proceed in economics without a strong grounding in fundamentals will likely end poorly. After you understand the bedrock, we can move to more complex topics.
My teaching style caters to all ability levels and all modes of learning. I use theory, current events, and historical case studies to explain concepts. I am also willing to traverse beyond the material to discuss topics related to economics, including graduate school and potential job prospects.
I am qualified to teach a range of topics, so please feel free to inquire. I will help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. I am always invested in your success.
