About Robert

After 30 years of teaching mathematics, I retired from my current position this past June 2025. Though I’m stepping away from the full-time classroom, my passion for supporting students and fostering a love for learning remains as strong as ever. That’s why I am looking to tutor math on an individual basis where I can continue contributing meaningfully to education in a more flexible role. My five-year-old son is currently a first grader at his local elementary school, and the opportunity to work closer to home would allow me to better support both his development and the academic journey of other students in the community. I bring to this role a wealth of classroom experience, a strong understanding of diverse learning needs, and an unwavering commitment to student growth. I am eager to share my skills while remaining present and involved in my son’s early years. If given the opportunity, I will approach this role with the same dedication and professionalism that have defined my teaching career. Thank you for your time and consideration.

About the lesson

I’m a retired math teacher with 30 years of experience, primarily working with junior high school students to help them succeed in math—especially Algebra 1.

My typical lesson structure included:

Do Now: A quick warm-up to get students thinking

Topic Introduction: Presenting the concept of the day

Recall & Notes: Reviewing prior knowledge and taking notes

Drill Practice: Reinforcing skills through exercises

Summary: Wrapping up with key takeaways
