About Rose
Hiya! As you can see from above, my name is Rose. I was a deputy head student at my sixth form and high school and I am now studying an undergraduate Masters at the University of Nottingham in Cancer Sciences. I've been a Kumon tutor for numerous years, as well as a GCSE maths tutor within my school. I received A*s in maths, psychology, and biology - and therefore I will be more than happy to teach up to GCSE maths, and A-level Psychology and Biology. I am a very enthusiastic and positive person and I've helped students secure 9s in maths and A*s in Biology and Psychology. I do believe forming a relationship with the student is vital to gain their trust and allow them to be fully open to my teaching (as well as giving them the confidence to be able to ask me for any help). However, I do want to maintain a professional relationship and will therefore not discuss my personal life - nor will I ask about theirs. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me (:

I am very flexible with lesson length and style (to suit the student), however, I do believe that a lesson less than 45 minutes may not allow enough time to get into depth on the specific subject of the lesson. A typical lesson will start with theory, then questions, then questions of various difficulty (unless the student has anything, in particular, they want to cover). Once again I would like to say I am very flexible, as I understand different formats work better for different students (e.g. videos, diagrams, lectures...etc) and I can adapt and focus on the material they may provide from school. My teaching method involves a lot of schematics to explain, just to make the student really understand the concept in an interactive way. I encourage understanding rather than memorising, although some things should be memorised. This allows the student will be able to apply this thinking process in examinations. I also emphasise the importance of exam technique (as proper technique is vital in Psychology and Biology).
